the learner driver course

A totally flexible, structured course of theoretical and practical tuition tailored to the individual, including advice on the Theory Test and leading you to the practical Driving Test.

A question frequently asked of myself and every other driving instructor is:

how many lessons will I need?

This is of course quite impossible to answer since the number of driving lessons needed by each individual will vary dramatically and is dependant on several factors which are:
  • Attitude
  • Rate of learning
  • Previous experience
  • Opportunities for practice between lessons
  • Frequency of lessons and practice

a statement from the DVSA following research on the subject

"Those who pass their driving test have had, on average, 47 hours of professional training, combined with 22 hours of private practice. Candidates who combine professional instruction with private practice are also more sucessful on the test. Some people need more lessons and practice than others. If you’re not getting it right all the time without your instructor’s help, you’re not ready to take your test."
